Thanks Karla! It's overwhelming how many of my memories of pater are in the kitchen. He taught me almost as much in the kitchen as he did in business. I hope you and Sloan are well and I'm so glad you enjoy cooking. It is so important and comforting. Would love to hear your comments on my recipes when you cook them.

Me too! I've been thinking about Dad a lot as we grow ever closer to the one year mark. I loved all the times we were called into the kitchen to help cook for the holidays, or when I'd pop round to the house every once in a while for dinner and he'd whip up such an amazing meal. I'm glad your keeping it alive for us all big sis! Love you and can't wait to see you in LA.

In reply to <a href="http://foundinfood.com/posole-in-broth/#comment-443">Belinda Barclay-White</a>.

Hominy is corn that has been soaked in an alkali solution of either lime or lye. The soaking removes the hull and germ of the corn and causes the grain to puff up to twice it's normal size.
Posole is a hearty stew from Mexico traditionally made with pork and hominy. Hominy can also be ground and simmered to make grits.
